christi's quilt......i have known christi since first grade.....she just turned 50 in july. this was my gift to her.....i have always wanted to do a scrappy bargello (used bonnie hunter's pattern from quiltville) and this was the perfect opportunity to do so....all was from stash, so that was a happy thing--used 32 different fabrics and only wish i had moved one in the placement, yes, that glaringly light pink print that should have been moved up about 2 or 4 spots--oh well....it is supposed to be representative of the sky, sunset and ocean--she is a carribean girl at heart. i quilted it myself on my little sewing machine (oh how i want a long arm!!!) with curves in the ocean, sun and rays in the sunset, and the sky had stars and windy curly-q's.....i must say i was really happy with the results......if you click on the picture it will open large and you too can appreciate it LOL.... the backing is white with a long panel of some black and leafy tropical print with parrots in it....that i also used for the binding....i made a matching pillowcase for the gift bag.......must say that i was really pleased with the results....i think she was too :o)

Lynne....
I love it! It is beautiful, what a lucky friend. I love your concept of the ocean to the sky and I think you captured it very well. Before I even read about the quilt that was my thought that it looked like a sunset. Great job and welcome to the land of blog...
