i can't believe how quickly time goes by and i write nothing about it. i think that that can actually be a good thing, because it means i am busy with "living", but it makes me wonder if i am too busy....too scattered to actually do things well, just a lick and a promise on each thing i do so that many things are left done half-assed.
going on my cruise was a wonderful gift from kevin. it was so nice to be with siobhan and to totally relax. i was talking with a friend yesterday about the cruise experience and how nice it is because there is not stress, no worries. while talking with another friend, we discussed how stressful my life is--some of it self-inflicted i admit, but stressful nonetheless.
and what i have really been learning recently is how quickly our focus can be taken off of where it belongs--our relationship with and our position in christ--without our even knowing it until we realize how off kilter we are......just like that.....like the story of the frog in slowly heating to boiling water--such subtle changes we don't even realize it until it can be too late....the nice thing though, is that with god it is never too late. he is always there, waiting patiently for us to say that we surrender and to get our focus off of us and back on to Him, where it belongs.....

Sounds like God was whispering in your ear on the cruise....it is always good to remember He is first in our lives.

well, he was whispering while on the cruise, then when i got home, he was talking pretty loudly, but i was really not listening to what he was saying in HIS context, but rather thru my skewed filters....after he SHOUTED at me yesterday i FINALLY got it LOL
too bad i am so thick headed and self-centered and "hard-of-hearing" sometimes....good thing He is long-suffering and patient ;o)
HE loves us no matter what.
