hope and hopeless....

i usually have ALOT of hope....and, like siobhan,, below, i have also  been hopeless....

having been both, i much prefer to be filled with hope.

this is providence, barefoot in the snow, with her bag of hope i made her for christmas....

i made LOTS of these this year...the word hope onto 16 more totes, and 3 walker bags and 3 wheelchair bags....then, these for the girls.  i have 3 more hope words done, just need to still make the bags....for once i had had my fill of hope! LOL

so, been working on a few different things, like i can finally show my mystery quilt that i tested for dorothy young for apocketfullofmysteries for her christmas mystery.  i LOVE the pattern.

i HATE this quilt top though.  I am working on changing my attitude about it, it is taking alot of prayer and so far i have not conquered (i think that is spelled wrong LOL) my strong dislike for the top....i LOVE the top, just not who i made it for.  i felt i was being obedient to God in making it for someone--because of my attitude.....now my attitude is even worse, and i am REALLY struggling with what to do with it...i am praying that God will not make me finish it....but i do not think that is really going to happen.....i am feeling a bit like jonah and my not wanting to give my quilt to "the ninevites"--
she DOES NOT deserve it!!!!

for fear that i may be swallowed by a whale and have to spend 3 days inside, i know i better get a move-on towards ninevah, but boy howdy---i sure don't want to!!!

you could pray for my journey if you wanted to.....

The hope bags are wonderful, although how that girl can stand in the snow in her bare feet is beyond me!

I'm so glad to see that you're blogging again. I always enjoy reading what you have to share.
The girls bags turned out really nice. And you know there's no better gift than that of hope!

Maybe you'll be able to finish up the quilt top without too much mental anguish...I hope so!

Lynne, I am amazed that your daughter was in the snow barefoot .. I'm having a hard time being in the 66 deg house without my fingerless mitts on! (I'll be putting them on shortly I believe) I also have socks and slippers and I'm still cold. The bags are wonderful though .. you'll feel good when the last three are done.

As for the quilt top - it's a great quilt top and a great pattern. Dorothy is a wonderful designer and I've done a quilt or two or hers in the past. Since I don't know the who or the why the who is so "ninevite-ish" .. well, my 2 cents is that if you follow what God wants you to do, even if you don't want to, he will bless that obedience. I know he wants a glad heart as well, but I'm sure he'll be please with obedience in the absence of a glad heart .. does that make sense? *hugs*

Yes tara, it makes perfect sense...and i want to have the obedience with a glad heart....really, what i want is to not miss his lesson, whtever it may be....there is alot rolled up in this one...where do you draw the line for righteous indignation and forgiveness? yep...it still needs prayer lol
