a new year....a new way of thinking

we have a snow day. it is still coming down. i woke up to an empty house. i decided i could go follow the footsteps to find the kids but figured they would come home when they were cold enough for some hot chocolate ;o) siobhan came in a while ago with her camera and immediately went to get them downloaded and edited....she is quite talented at only 14. they boys were soon to follow.....

i am still working away on my socks. have picked up the stitches for the gusset on the first one and am ready to work that--picking up the stitches is always the icky part in my mind but when i actually do it i ALWAYS wonder why i think it is so icky?? it is actually kinda fun! shows how powerful the mind is, and how our thoughts (even the twisted ones--or should i say eSPECIALLY the twisted ones) can control us.....i will have to work on changing my thought pattern on MANY things this new year. i think that mostly it is our mind that is our hinderance of getting things done......

off to finish the socks!!!! hopefully the next post will be news that they are all ready to be kitchener stitched shut=another little mental block that i actually enjoy! good time to practice what i just wrote huh? LOL

i should also carry that thought process over into blogging and processing the pictures and posting them here. i have a billion of things that i have been working on and really i want to ost the pictures, but sure to hate the thought of "all the work" involved--oh brother!!!  gotta get rid of THAT thought huh?

so...pictures to come shortly!

so, took a break to take some pictures and also to work on the one sock....one is now ready to kitchener ;o) one down, one to go ;o) of course this next picture was before i got the rest of the foot and toe done, but you get the idea right?

Love it :) Love the sock pictures as well. I've done just a couple of pairs of socks .. I find that the finer the yarn, the more I ladder on dpns .. :( I just did a hat out of a cane sugar yarn .. very pretty yarn, but got ladders :(

i got to start the hat too, so that is now mindless knitting for a while. i hope to get both socks finished tomorrow, as well as the girls hope bags handles stitched down. then that will be 2 things that were important for me to finish DONE!!!! i like dpn's better than circulars. i tend to make more ladders on circs than on dpn's for some reason. i usually don't get many laddders on dpn's, i try to pull and snug it up pretty well for an even tension....off to go knit!
