this reversible cable scarf is one of my favorite finds. i LOVE cables and have made SEVERAL irish hiking scarves, but was always sad that there was an ugly side and wanted to have a reversible one where the cables look the same on the front and the back. silver, at cometosilver.com , designed the palindrome scarf and granted my wish for me!!! i LOVE this pattern and i am sure that i will knit it up in lots of different yarns. this one will probably be my favorite though because it is made with some really special yarn that was purchased on a really special trip. when ever i wear it, which will be often, i will be reminded of that special trip :o)
as a side note, the fabric postcard next to it is a copy of a leaf that i gathered on that same trip. i went to burney falls, ca.... I like the simplicity of the design of the card so it just showcases the beautiful leaf. the leaf is probably one of my greatest treasures so it was really nice to duplicate it into a card.
and, the tree card in the top picture is from miriam from dublin, ireland. she always does AMAZING work and when i was oooohing and aaahhhing over a card she had made for the tree swap (that i did not sign up for) she sent me one of my very own!!!
also, the wall hanging was done by me, hand appliqued and quilted and it shows my life verse..."establish the work of my hands Lord" Psalm 90:17 . I find that life goes lots better when i give the planning up over to God and He directs what i do even the little daily things.....i learned this a few years ago when i was struggling with the order (or lack thereof) of my day. it helped me out alot......
this little footie, jaymi's sockette was designed by jane of ozknitter and i tested the pattern for her. i used a panda bamboo wool blend in violet and i LOVED it.....this is definitely a make again and again pattern.......even my girls showed interest in these little footies and want me to make some for them. up til now they have not been too impressed with hand knit socks--that is because they have never worn them!!! there is nothing like it i think--a real pampering if you ask me :o)
