oh, there's a fire back there....

on my cell phone message i ramble as i am driving as to why i can not answer the phone....most likely that it is at the bottom of my purse, or lost, but that when i find it, i will call you back...then, as i look in my rearview mirror i notice a fire and comment on it....then continue on to tell you to leave me a message....recently we had a fire across the street from our house. providence climbed on top of the van and took some pictures (very zoomed in--i LOVE my camera!!!) but this is the corner across the street from my house 3 lots down.....it was a bit scary and we wondered if we should pack up a few things or stay put. the quick response of all of the emergency vehicles (as well as helicopter and plane dropping water) was amazing and it was put out in a fairly quick time. we live in the desert on 5 acres of scrub. the winds always blow north and this was blowing right towards us so it really was a bit scary.

for a little sidenote--the smallish trees are called joshua trees and only grow in a few areas in the world--isreal and the mojave desert. they are named joshua trees because they are remniscant of joshua raising his arms.....they have sharp spikey pointy "leaves" that hurt like a big dog when you accidently walk into them. they then leave the tips of them in you and they cause infection. ask me how i know!!! LOL

anyway, this is my world....i would love to live in the mountains instead of the desert......
