i was clicking right along with the back of my sweater.....only 3 more rows left to do when i noticed that i had twisted a cable wrong--about 25 rows down. sigh. what to do???!!! i groaned for a bit, wondering aloud how i was going to fix it, and if i should track down irene, who taught me to knit--and how to fix my own mistakes--or just WHAT SHOULD I DO???!!! sigh again. yes, she did teach me how to fix my own mistakes, so i guess that is what i should do right?? plus, i really want this to be my own sweater, not the one that irene helped me with......
ok, take a deep breath and take the back off the needles...sigh. start ripping. geez, how slow it is to go onto the needles when you are doing a complicated cabled pattern yet how FAST it is to unravel....sigh. it all gets packed gingerly into the basket to be set aside til i feel like picking up all those stitches back onto the needles without dropping any.....sigh.
no kids are around, all is quiet....deep breath, in with the good, out with the bad....lets get that baby back onto the needles and get going again. picked them all up, didn't drop a stitch. work the first row, make sure that none of the stitches are twisted....continue on....sigh.
continue on.....continue on.....what?? only 3 more rows to go til bind off??!! well, that was quick! so, i hurried on and got to bind off.....what a triumph! now, to start in on the fronts!
