today was a bittersweet day...

my mother-in-law passed away today.  i know that SHE is better off, but we who are left were still not ready....even when we have had so many practice runs!  LOL

a few posts ago, on hope, i mentioned that she had once again lived through what should have killed her and was again a walking miracle.  she had last rights given 3 times in the last 2 months alone--we just were not ready even still.....but in many ways we were....

we know she is a believer, and therefore is whole, and healthy, and no longer tired or in pain...and she is with our heavenly Father, who loves her more than we did...but we are sad a bit because we will miss her so.

you know how you hear soooo many jokes and horror stories about mother-in-laws???  i could never identify with those...mine was wonderful to me, she loved me like a daughter and thought i was the very best thing ever for her son....she thought i was a great daughter-in-law and always let me know how much she loved me and appreciated me....she always let kevin and me be...no interferance...only one time did she give advice and it was to tell kevin to stop doing something because it was not fair to me, and could hurt us in the longrun...she was right, and he listened  :o)

now, donna was one of the most independant, free thinking, assertive people that i have ever met.  she knew her mind, and she was gonna do what she wanted, her way and that was that.  some of her ways were a bit odd, but they were hers and boy howdy....that was that.  she was gracious and giving,  and a wonderful mother and grandmother....and an example....such an example, especially in what it meant to serve the Lord.....i bet she is there with Him just having the BEST time!  oh my gosh how she loved music--playing and singing....i bet she is just having the best time....can't wait til we all get to be there with her......
