is just wonderful!!!! i took the front colors from this, and of course it looks REALLY washed out in the picture, but it is bright and cheery....it is gonna be quilted SOON i hope, and then bound in red.....it is a really cute quilt. i don't know if silas is gonna get it--his shower is the 17th, and vickie gilman guilted me about getting his quilt done.....
BUT, i am doing log cabins for each of the grandkids, with making an extra block for a grandma's quilt when i eventually get enough grandkids LOL having 11 kids of my own, i am thinking i will eventually have enough blocks for a king size quilt, and then probably enough for another king sized quilt for kevin :o) however, at the rate i am getting their quilts done, i have enough for one candle mat.
i only have eireland's fully done, and arcadia's is pieced, just needs to be quilted and bound....and tristan's isn't even to the fabric being chosen stage.....so, if silas gets the above quilt, it is only a guilt quilt and not his real one :o)
i did make some little burp cloths for him and a few huge recieving blankets for the shower (thanks to vickie's guilt therapy), but also have another quilt (but not the real log cabin one still) in mind for him that matches their nursery stuff....i already got the fabric coz i was supposed to make it for heather's baby....so....i could give rocketman to heather for madden, and do the rain forest one for silas....hhhhhhmmmmmm....whatcha think jenna? i think i had better get busy on that quilt one way or another!

haha, even Vickie knows you are not a woman to finish her products- I think it is because you are too excited to start something new. You get it to a stage where it looks good enough, but just might not be functional! Anyhow, I like both things (not saying that to get both), so whatever you give Madden and Silas is fine with me. It sure is cute to see his name written out- a real person!! Anyhow, if you show up with a quilt top in a bag, that will be a-ok with me, I know it will end up finished one day :) Ooh, and I am excited to see what you have made. Large receiving blankets will be nice, all the ones we have from stores are so tiny... How am I supposed to hide under that or wrap him up??
lol, yeah, my mom always made those wonderful LARGE thin blankets that were great to cover up with, but light enough to not kill the baby under--just perfect. you will also like the fabric choice. i made 2 of them. they will be your favorite ones, well, up until i get the USA ones done anyway.
yep, i get bored with a project. i see it in my minds eye how it will be finished and so there is no need for me to finish it--except for as you said--it is not functional!!! so, yes, my goal is to get more stuff finished this year. i took a pile of quilt tops to the church and hung them on the wall to take pictures of to blog about for one of my groups challenges....and, i already picked which one i am finishing first--the easiest one LOL no, really, it is the one that i made for my sisters and my mom of our first trip to cambria and mine never got finished. actually, speaking of cambria, i am HERE!!!! actually, in morro bay still, but heading out in a few minutes to go to spend the day in cambria.....it will be hard because it is the first time here without my sister.....i am taking a bottle of wine (yes, a small one!!!) and knitting and my bible and going to go sit on my bench there and spend some good reflective time....then, gonna go down on moonstone beach and collect some stones....will work on silas' quilt perhaps next week, but then again, aunt mary will be here so there will probably not be a quilt top in a bag :o) good thing you are a good daughter that accepts me as i am.
ok, off to cambria--i love you-oh, and how are you feeling???
