i've got heat and 3 dozen roses!

two big things! both big events--today is our 28th anniversary. and, our heater is fixed.....the anniversary is self-explanitory, the heater nearly burnt down the house....i'll start with the anniversary, coz it is the most monumental....

we got married in our apartment in covina, my sister-in-law mary's dad, roger, married us. it was a closed marriage, meaning that it is not public record. kevin was doing private investigations at the time so it was safer for us to do it that way.....any way, i remember standing in my bathroom in my slip with a typewriter perched on the counter and me typing in the information of the certificate.....then, 3 minutes later standing out in the dining room (with my dress on by then) getting married....it was a fun little no-stress time and a little party with family and a few friends....and, i bet they all thought it wouldn't last LOL

we have had our ups and downs, but all in all, it has been a great time, and every day is better than the last. and, we learn new ways to show our appreciation and love for each other--kevin is better at that than i am--he is a keeper.....i am truely blessed to have him as my husband. God really knew what he was doing when He put us together.....we have really been thru alot, but to come out of it all still wonderful friends and lovers is just grand.....

so, i got 1 1/2 dozen roses the other day for valentine's day. then, yesterday afternoon, i got 1 1/2 dozen more delivered for our anniversary. most guys would think that one set of flowers could cover both events--but kevin is wonderfully different, and i get one for each event....hip hip hooray! i LOVE flowers, and appreciate them soooo much.....i feel spoiled (i know, i am spoiled!) having 2 vases of flowers adding such beauty and scent to the house....

being my anniversary it sure does make me miss ireland. we went 3 yrs ago for our 25th anniversary. it was a really wonderful trip, with many wonderful memories and i will never forget it. i can not wait to go back....probably next year....

ok, so, now, about the heat.....last sunday providence came out of the shower and asked why the house was so smoky......more than just the steam from the shower--as in the whole back half of the house was full of smoke.....kevin and i dash around looking for the flames...providence rushes outside wrapped in her towel with tadhgain.....they were the only 2 kids home. we could not find any flames, kevin went outside and looked up on the roof and smoke was billowing out of the heating unit on the roof.....he came inside and turned it off, i called 911 and we had to go outside to wait for the firemen....the smoke started clearing and stopped billowing when kevin turned off the heater....so, they came, went on the roof, and inside the crawl space inside and found that the heater was melting down and smouldering.....so they disconnected it and said that it was safe to go back in again, but that we needed the heater guy to come out and check it all out.....yeah, i just wanted to never go back in EVER, and to just move that night.....like that was really going to happen.....so, we go off to Lowe's to buy some space heaters and go out for pizza to cheer us up...we also got to look at new refridgerators too (we are getting a new one this coming week or so), so that was a fun thing to help take my mind off of it a bit.....but it is a good thing i know my bible and that it says that i am not supposed to have a spirit of fear...coz i sure did rely on that verse to help me be in the house this week.

the heater guy came yesterday morning--it has been COLD this week too. yesterday we had several inches of snow. we are supposed to get more today or tomorrow--so it really is nice to have the heater fixed. he replaced the wiring and the motor and all is good to go now, and is even toasty warm inside now :o)

oh yeah, i did let providence go back in and get some clothes on before the firemen came so she wasn't out there all that time wrapped only in a towel. LOL she took some really good pictures of her and tadhgain in the snow yesterday, so after i get them uploaded i will add them to this post....
