tomorrow, tomorrow, i love you, tomorrow, you're only a day away....

tomorrow is THE day to start!!!! it is finally here.....who is excited??? i am! i am!!!

kevin leaves for work about 6:30 am....providence has a dr's appt at 9 am....so, the first chunk will be posted somewhere in between there....

so, how you do your chunk is up to you.....i found that it was easiest to make 9 9 patches and then join them together. you may find that you want to just join 9 squares into 9 rows and then join the rows....one thing that you will want to do is control your seams so that they nest easily when putting them together. this can easily be done by pressing the seams of odd rows towards the left and even rows towards the right.

after you are done with each chunk you will want to pin the corresponding number to the upper left corner of your block so you will know which number it is as well as it's orientation.....remember, the chunks are not going to be done in grid order. so, you will be getting the grid puzzle as the last clue as to how to lay out these beauties :o)

at that time i will also post a whole chart in an excel spreadsheet that you can print out to have the whole chart....

i am gonna go cut some more of one more color...i am ending up making 2 mini's and 1 king size...what are you making? and what colors are you using??

my mini's are: cream/tan for the backgrounds for both: with teal, goldy-yellow, and brown for one and green, rusty-orange and another color yet to be determined...the brown i wanted did not have enough contrast with the green....so, shifted the brown to the teal and now am gonna go play in the stash to pick the last color for the green/rust one.....

see you tomorrow....

I'm cutting fabric tonight. Had to change my colors a bit, but it's all good! Now it's olive, purple, and brown with a cream background. It looks better than it sounds, really.

melodie, actually i think that yours sounds really pretty....i soooo wanted my brown and green to play nicely together, but they didn't and had to get seperated...still have not cut/chosen my 3rd color yet...i think i am just gonna try to find a different brown....

hi mavis,

the total chart is made from a grid of 43 squares. i divided it in to more manageable "chunks"--25 of them. today we get the first chunk. the 8th we get 2 more....then, each wednesday we get more....until we get all 25 chunks to put together.

and, whoo-hoo! canada is here too. hip hip hooray! have fun with your friend sewing this. you both will be pleased i think :o)
