RAW 3 weeks in....

i HATE paper piecing...it is just not something that my brain wraps itself around very easily....i do it, but i hate it each step of the way and usually end up with something that has to be redone....i should have re-done one or more of these seams, but figured that it was not gonna get washed and dried all that often, i could just "let it be"-- good thing that the quilt police don't live here, and that i can sometimes allow myself to just let it be, coz boy howdy, there is one glaring corner that is just NOT matched that is driving me a bit whack, but i am working on letting go of some perfectionism and this is a good thing for me....however, i wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't find a falling leaf stitched over it in the future LOL

i do paper piecing because of the great design it can help you achieve--supposedly with more accuracy LOL BUT, tara did a nice job of designing this round and i was glad to get it done, but did write to her and ask for no more paper piecing PLEASE!!! LOL ask, and it may be granted right?? one can only hope....but she did write back and say that that was all the paper piecing--hip hip hooray!!! i am wanting to get some more brown going on it there, lots of leaves and perhaps some pumpkins??? am gonna go on the search for some rusty plaids and small prints....i can not even believe that there are NONE of those in my stash....they should be a staple for someone who loves fall so much right???

stepping back and looking at things in pictures really does help in the quilting process. i really do not like the layout of my applique and the blank space left in that awful plaid fabric that keeps swallowing whatever color i use to embroider....there is too much negative space left, so i am gonna add some more leaves and acorns to the 4 already there and work towards more of a wreath effect...i think it will help the ugly fabric to recede and the give thanks to come more to the front and not be lost...off to the drawing board to see what is gonna make me happy afterall.

okie dokie, only 2 more days til wednesday!!! can't wait to get chunks 2 and 3 posted for you all....so far we are churning out some really great looking chunks....perhaps i can get a little bit of life posted about tomorrow....
