the trip to the pumpkin patch......

have you ever heard of flat stanley? he is a flat paper boy that gets sent off to visit someone and they take pictures of him and show him a good time before he goes back home. in a sock knitting group i am in, jeanie decided to send a little knitting nellie on a trip....her first stop was to my house :o)

nellie has gone lots of places. we went and bought yarn and knitting needles, and she even went to go get my birthday tatoo with me, but she was camera shy and did not want her picture taken.....so, before she got shipped off to london to see the queen, i decided to take her out one more time to go to one of my favorite places.... the pumpkin patch!!!

here we are....tristan, knitting nellie, and eireland.....all ready to go to pick up shea from work, go to the tatoo place, then to the pumpkin patch!!!! hip hip hooray!!! i love the pumpkin patch! ok, all strapped in safe and sound.......

now, most people could already see something wrong with that picture......a little teeny paper girl strapped in next to a baby???? most people would think that a 50 yr. old mother of 11 would recognize the problem with that all on her own.....

so, we are driving along happily.....we go get shea from work. tristan is just as happy as can be and laughing, laughing, laughing! eireland is keeping him nice and happy! so, we arrive at the tatoo place to get an appointment for shea to have kelly add cherry blossoms behind her ribbon of family on her arm (her appt is friday, i will post pics!!!) I go to get the kids out of the car and ...

OH MY GOSH!!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO NELLIE????

do you SEE all those little bits and pieces on top of my recycle bag????!!!!

They are Nellie!!!!

oh no, it was not the baby that got and mauled her like one would have thought it would have been....it was the 4 yr. old that kept her brother laughing in stitches as she tore nellie into bits....

doesn't she look pleased with herself? needless to say, we did NOT go to the pumpkin patch......and i just thought over and over again--oh my god, how am i gonna explain this to nellie's mother jeanie???

Did you see that adorable smile on that cutie? I think it was worth it just to see that. I absolutely love kids. Your kids are the cutest I have seen in so long!! That is the best laugh I have had in forever. Love and hugs to the kids.

Ohhh , Poor Nellie, it was a terrible accident!!!! And the litle urchin has such a cute face, LOL...We all need to help 'revive' Nellie, maybe in a bit more durable form....Maggie in IL

Yeah, since Nellis is/was a Knitting Nellie, we need to knit her; maybe some of us can knit pieces and someone else can assemble her? Lordy, you are 50?? 11 kids...eek squeekers, as my mother of 7 would say.

What a great time they had. Poor Nellie, maybe we can get her going in yarn!

I did the Flat Stanley thing for my neices and loved every minute of it. I think you're going to have to try to make a new Nellie and then get pics at the salon and say she had a makeover...giggle!
